Students mingling with proprietress and staff. We are one family at James and Margaret schools
James and Margaret Schools is dedicated to the legacy and Work of Chief Margaret Anagbogu (Née Nnaji)
A Standard school with international recognition.
The School was founded in 2021 but its origins goes back to 1996, when the late Chief Margaret Anagbogu identified an opportunity to sow a seed in the lives of some long-suffering widows. After retiring from the civil service in 1984, the former Chief Nursing Officer in the defunct Anambra State started the John and Priscilla Maternity and Convalescent Homes. Many of her patients were widows - young and recently bereaved or older and requiring frequent healthcare. Regardless of age and status, these widows had a common issue i.e. overwhelming economic woes stemming from maltreatment, loss of belongings, and properties following the demise of their husbands. So, in 1996 she established the God’s Will Daycare, Nursery and Primary School in her premises in Emene, a densely populated suburban city in Enugu, in the Southeast region of Nigeria. Her aim was to provide affordable, quality education while offering gainful employment and a positive mission to widows in the community. God’s Will was later renamed to John and Priscilla Schools and was operated by her until July 2020 when she passed onto glory. Following her demise, in 2021, her son and daughter inlaw found the James and Margaret Schools as a memorial to her and her late husband, Chief Meke Anagbogu.

Barrister Mrs Zelinjo Anagbogu is the proprietress of James and Margaret Schools: Nursery, Primary and Secondary Schools. As a daughter to 2 teachers, she grew up knowing the importance of education. As a lawyer, she knows the importance of professionalism in addition to education. To her, education is multifaceted and cannot stand alone. It goes together with professionalism, etiquette, emotional intelligence , spiritualism, and critical thinking. This is what she has brought to her school. “Education must be holistic.” With her experiences home and abroad she has revolutionized education in the community that the school exists. James and Margaret Schools was born out of the need to continue the work of her mentor and mother in law Late Mrs Margaret Chinelo Anagbogu (née Nnaji) of blessed memory. The vision of the school is no child left behind and she has introduced ways to carry the lowly along. Her famous words are “What’s so-ever you do to the least of God’s children, that you do onto Him. For one day we would leave this earth and give an account of the talents we have been given, more-so give an account of what we have done with all our experiences, I pray that when I stand before God to discuss these in it’s entirety, I would not be found wanting. These children are very important to me and I will do my best to give them what it takes to succeed in life. No child shall be left behind. "
We have trained specialists and instructors in different aspects of ICT who engage both pupils and students in ICT lessons ranging from basic computer packages to coding and training of A.I(Artificial Intelligence) models
Phonics instruction teaches the relationships between the letters of written language and the sounds of spoken language. We understand that children’s reading development is dependent on their understanding of alphabetic principle. Our school is big on providing phonics instruction in order to help our children learn these basic principles. They will understand sound -letter correspondence as they decode new words.
Parents want an environment which is safe, comfortable and, fun. Our day care offers all these and also a motivating and stimulating environment where the child’s social, mental and, physical development is achieved.
The first years of a child’s life is nursery and primary. Children learn basic skills in areas of reading, writing and, math. Our school provides all the resources for this vital step. We work very hard to prepare our children to read and learn the fundamental concepts of science and maths (STEM). We assist them while partnering with their parents to achieve the skills for later life learning.
Children at this stage are very creative as they prepare for adulthood. We give our students the tools for this later life journey . We help to teach students to research, listen, collaborate, lead, be creative and, innovative. The students will put in hard work into activities, classes and various subject matters. In this stage we take our students on field trips to various important parastatals and companies where they get exposed to various professions and occupations. This will spark interests in their young minds about their future goals.
Children come to school to learn. In our vision of no child left behind, we know that there are factors that affect the child’s readiness to learn: poverty, housing insecurity, financial insecurity. We partner with each of the parents to find best ways to breach the gaps without compromising quality. We perform outreach to the community e.g the motherless babies homes and other charity organizations and offer resources in order to bring children to school. This is what our mentors James and Margaret (of blessed memory) were about. This is what sparked our humble beginnings. No child will be left behind.
Our school is big on the the principles of etiquette. Etiquette is a code of conduct and a set of societal rules that act as a catalyst for postive human interactions. On the other hand, manners are behaviors that reflect a person’s attitude. When children are taught these basic etiquette principles, we create a better society. Our school provides etiquette instructions daycare through secondary. A child at a time, we create a better Nigeria.
